The weekend sun hunt
Where is sunny this weekend?
Start with the forecast for your exact Saturday and Sunday, then compare places you can realistically reach from home. This page has no dated forecast result or current destination picks: it is a planning guide, not a live answer about this weekend’s weather.

Give “this weekend” a date
A sunny Saturday is useful only if it is the Saturday you mean. Write down both calendar dates before comparing forecasts, especially when a search result or saved article says only “this weekend”. A page’s editorial update date is not evidence that its weather has been checked.
Read each day separately. Clear skies on Sunday do not tell you what Saturday will be like, and a good forecast for one part of a break does not cover the rest.
Make a shortlist that fits your weekend
Start at your front door
Use your actual origin, whether that is London, Manchester, Bristol or somewhere else. Include the trip to the station, airport or main road.
Set a maximum journey
Decide how much of the break you will spend travelling each way. Compare the return journey too; an easy outward route can have an awkward Sunday return.
Check sunshine and the rest
Look at forecast sunshine duration alongside temperature, rain and wind. A bright winter afternoon can still need a warm coat.
Check again before committing
Compare forecasts for the same dates and note when they were checked. If a day is outside the available forecast, keep it marked as unknown. Before booking or setting off, check the latest forecast and the journey you intend to take.
Sol, the sunshine finder, is being built around the question “where is the sun within my travel time?” Future dated picks need their own origin, dates, check time and coverage note. None are published here yet.
Before you go
A few good questions.
Does this page show the sunniest place this weekend?
No. No dated result has been published here. This guide explains how to compare forecasts and travel time without presenting old or unverified places as current picks.
Does a sunny forecast mean a warm weekend?
No. Sunshine, temperature, rain and wind describe different parts of the weather. Check them together for the activities you have in mind.
Can I run a public Sol search now?
Sol is not public yet. This page is a planning guide; it does not provide a public search or promise that a destination will be sunny.
